BLUE DREAM (OF LOVE AND PEACE)
An Indie NYC feature film, looking for cast...
On their last night as 8th graders,
Charlie and Miles, two best friends at the edge of adolescence, chase girls, trouble, and each other through a summer night in New York City,
tangled in longing, resentment, and the ache of emotions they don’t yet have words for.
LOOKING FOR CAST IN NEW YORK CITY - PAID.
BLUE DREAM (OF LOVE AND PEACE) WILL BEGIN PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY IN JULY, 2026

“...To an audience, this might read as a coming-of-age story filled with awkwardness, and humor. I hope people laugh and squirm. But to Charlie and Miles, it is a tragedy. The end of something unspoken. The quiet collapse of their innocence. The unraveling of a friendship before either of them fully understand what is being lost.
I wanted to make something emotionally honest about male friendship. About how boys are rarely given the space or language to express love unless it is romantic or sexual. And about contradiction - how you can love someone and still resent them, care for someone and still hurt them. That tension lives at the center of the story...”

From the Director:
“Growing up in New York, I was always a deeply emotional kid. As a teenager, everything felt heightened and overwhelming. The grief of losing things I loved - friendships, feelings, time I could never get back seemed enormous. I clung to affection and connection like they were sacred. Love, to me, was, and still is, a kind of belief system. But I didn’t have the words to express any of it. This film is a way of returning to that time with a clarity I didn’t have then.
This film follows Charlie and Miles, two 14-year-old best friends on the verge of high school, caught in that strange space where childhood fades and something harder to define takes its place. Over the course of one night, their friendship quietly begins to fracture. The film holds years of closeness, jealousy, comfort, and dependence, and presses it into a single moment that neither of them knows how to talk about...”

“...Ultimately this is a film about feeling something enormous without knowing how to name it. About loving someone in a way you cannot yet explain. And about the quiet heartbreak of growing up beside someone, only to realize you are no longer growing in the same direction.
Love & Peace,
Finn Droga”
